Level of Service. Clients are assured that, above
all else, we are interested in fostering their best
interests. From this attitude flows our delivery of
services—fast, efficient and always responsive to their needs.
Technical Know-How. There are a number of fields in
which we are recognized leaders. These include: tax
compliance, civil and criminal tax fraud, U.S. withholding
tax, international taxation of trusts, the rules governing
international charities, and estate planning for complex
estates. Attention to Detail. We know that it is the details
that make the difference. And we know that details require
attention and consistency.
Experience. There are few issues falling
in our areas of practice that we have not dealt with,
successfully, on many occasions.
Client Confidentiality. Moore & Bruce, LLP is subject
to the professional rules of the District of Columbia. These
rules rank with the strongest in the world for protecting
client confidences.
Conveying Answers. It does no good to have mastered a
complicated subject if you cannot convey information about it and, in doing so, insure that the client is
put in a position to
act effectively.
Little Touches. Clients
frequently compliment us for “little touches”.
Examples include: Our “Control Sheets” that capture all the
pertinent information about an entity, be it a trust or a corporation or
a partnership, in order that the client can avoid
crawling through a thick file to unearth facts. Our “Diagrams”
to illustrate structures. Our “Road Maps” to summarize
complex agreements, trusts, estate plans, etc. Archiving
electronically important documents for the client and making
them easily retrievable.
Estate Plans. In connection with an estate plan,
which may include wills, trusts, family partnerships,
charitable contributions, and a gift giving program, simple documents that spell out for the surviving spouse,
for example, where everything is, what the estate plan is,
how it works, what’s important, who he or she can call, and
perhaps
the decedent’s thoughts on all manner of subjects. In short,
“What Happens If The Plane Goes Down.” We also offer to
call the client once a year to touch base and let the client know what changes in the law have been made or are
“in the wind.” The client can use this opportunity to
discuss whatever comes to mind.
Charging For Services.
We normally charge on an hourly basis. Unlike most firms,
however, we are
willing, where feasible, to quote flat fees. We can also
tailor our billing practices in a number of ways to suit the client.
Familiarity with U.S. Internal
Revenue Service Compliance Practices. We
discover, under Freedom of Information provisions, read and
digest all IRS training materials in the areas of U.S.
international tax, including taxation of foreign trusts.
Worldwide Tax Developments. We monitor tax
developments in all the major jurisdictions on a daily
basis.
