What Sets Us Apart

Level of Service. Clients are assured that the most important thing for us is fostering their best interests. From this attitude flows our delivery of services—fast, efficiently and always aligned with the client’s needs.

Attention to Detail. We know that it is the details that make the difference. And we know that details require attention and consistency.

Technical Know-How. There are a number of fields in which we are recognized leaders. These include: tax compliance, civil and criminal tax fraud, US withholding tax, international taxation of trusts, the rules governing international charities, and estate planning for complex estates.

Experience. There are few issues falling in our areas of practice that we have not dealt with, successfully, on more than one occasion.

Client Confidentiality. Moore & Bruce, LLP is subject to the professional rules of the District of Columbia. These rules rank with the strongest in the world for protecting client confidences.

Conveying Answers. It does no good to have mastered a complicated subject if you cannot convey it to the client and, in doing so, insure that the client is in a position to act effectively.

Little Touches. As odd as it may seem, clients frequently compliment us most for the “little touches”. Examples include: Our “Control Sheets” to capture all the pertinent information about an entity, be it a trust or corporation or partnership, so the client does not have to crawl through a thick file to unearth facts. Our “Diagrams” to illustrate structures. Our “Road Maps” to summarize complex agreements, trusts, estate plans, etc. Archiving electronically important documents for the client and making them easily retrievable.

Estate Plans. In connection with an estate plan, which may include wills, trusts, family partnerships, charitable contributions, and a gift giving program, a simple document that spells out for the surviving spouse, for example, where everything is, what the estate plan is, how it works, what’s important, who he or she can call, and the decedent’s thoughts on all manner of subjects: In short, “What Happens If The Plane Goes Down” . We also offer to call the client once a year just to touch base and let him or her know what changes in the law have been made or are “in the wind”. The client can use this opportunity to discuss whatever is on his or her mind.

Charging For Services. Unlike most firms, we are willing where feasible to quote flat fees. We can also tailor our billing practices to suit the client.

Familiarity with US IRS Compliance Practices. We discover, under Freedom of Information provisions, read and digest all IRS training materials in the areas of US international tax, including taxation of foreign trusts. If you know what is taught to the examiners, you enjoy a significant advantage.

Worldwide Tax Developments. We monitor tax developments in all the major jurisdictions on a daily basis.
