Moore & Bruce, LLP advises a range of institutional
clients including charities, museums, art galleries,
governments, and non-governmental organizations. We render
advice on all the issues that arise for these institutions,
including contracts, tax and employment issues.
In one of our more unique representations, we advice a
southeast European government with respect to the
establishment of a representative office in Washington, DC,
before that government was officially recognized by the
United States. We helped it acquire a property, which is now
its embassy. We also helped the individuals working in this
office with a multiplicity of immigration and reporting
issues.
Regarding international charities, we have helped organize
them in the US and in locations such as Bermuda, Barbados
and Jersey, Channel Islands. Where desired, we have obtained
IRS determinations letters (recognizing their tax exempt
status). Our attorneys sit on the Boards of several such
entities.
