Moore & Bruce, LLP represents clients dealing with many different types of disputes. These range from simple commercial disagreements to complex multiparty litigation. Much of the litigation involves challenges to government actions. On a day-to-day basis, we deal with controversies that cross one or more borders.

We are able to enforce a client’s legal rights efficiently and rapidly. Where a venture capital group breached a nondisclosure/non-circumvention agreement, we obtained a temporary restraining order from a Magistrate in the State of Delaware in less than 48 hours. The order was enforced in the U.S. against U.S. and European partners of the defendant. When a large institutional investor—then the 60th largest company in the world—threatened a company that had introduced a highly successful investment opportunity, we obtained an order from a State court in a small town in Colorado that protected the client, which order was effective worldwide.

One of our attorneys represents hundreds of taxpayers in one of the largest and most vigorously contested U.S. tax fraud cases in history.

A matter might involve a small amount of money but a subject of great concern to the client.  A client was unhappy with the allocation of seats to season ticket holders in a new stadium. Without resorting to a court, we were able satisfactorily to resolve the matter in a couple of weeks.

One of the largest European based construction companies reneged on its contract to pay a commission to a consultant for helping it obtain valuable contracts from a southeast European country. The company refused to enter into a detailed written contract. We advised the client that he could rely upon an oral agreement negotiated and entered into in the US. This position, when it came time to enforce, survived motions for summary judgment, and facing a jury trial in the District of Columbia, the defendant agreed to a settlement that far exceeded what it ever intended to pay.

We conduct litigation and related discovery around the globe. We are known for our strategic and tactical skills.

We frequently advise non-U.S. persons how to avoid or minimize the risk of lawsuits in the U.S. We advised a Bermuda-headquartered bank on this subject, as it arose in a contract with a U.S. provider of marketing services.
